Versatility Ranch Horsemanship

Trevor Carter brings his experience as a working ranch cowboy, clinician, and competitor in reined cowhorse and versatility ranch horse events to help riders learn how to better prepare their horses for every day life as well as performance.  In his clinics, you can expect you'll keep an emphasis on horsemanship all while gaining a better understanding of ranch work, stock handling, and competition.   Whether your goals are skills based or performance driven, this clinic will meet you where you are, and help you get where you want to go.

AM - Purposeful Horsemanship  8-12
In the mornings, we’ll focus on your horsemanship by challenging it with patterns and obstacles in ranch riding in trail.  We’ll work on dynamics of leads and lead changes and use cattle to help improve your stops and turns.

PM - Cow Work + Ranch Roping 1-5
In the afternoon, we'll be refining those skills into performance elements, where we’ll be working with cattle to strengthen commitment and understanding from you and your horse.  Tracking, Driving, Boxing, Fencing Preparations, and an introduction to Ranch Roping. (Even if you don’t rope, you and your horse will gain great insight from the roping exercises and see how it translates to everything else.)
